Project Title: Energy Efficiency T-8 Lights (FFS #R3PE)

State: Michigan

Project Description: Pendills Creek National Fish Hatchery (NFH) in Brimley, Michigan will receive funding from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 to support energy-efficiency projects. Pendills Creek NFH, founded in 1951, rears lake trout as part of the Great Lakes Restoration Program. The hatchery complex produces more than 6 million eggs annually and more than 900,000 yearling and 200,000 fall fingerling lake trout for stocking into Lake Michigan and Lake Huron. Recovery Act funding will support a variety of projects, including the installation of a new lighting system, which will create a safer working environment for hatchery staff and increase energy efficiency at the hatchery.
