Three companies share $337,000 in stimulus funding to perform system upgrades at Makah National Fish Hatchery

The Makah (muh-kaw) National Fish Hatchery will benefit from four contracts to replace electrical systems, water pumps, trough piping and repair the hatchery roof at the western Washington facility. The Department of the Interior’s U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service announced it will provide more than $300,000 in stimulus funding under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act for the projects, all of which are designed to help the hatchery meet its annual salmon and steelhead production goals.

Secretary Salazar Announces $16.6 Million of Economic Recovery Funding to Modify the Spillway of Folsom Dam in California

Bureau of Reclamation has awarded a $16.6 million contract under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) for modifying the spillway piers and gates of Folsom Dam to resist seismic loadings. The project is part of Reclamation’s Infrastructure Reliability and Safety of Dams improvements. Folsom Dam is located approximately 20 miles northeast of Sacramento, Calif., near the city of Folsom.

Recovery Act to help reopen Allegheny National Fish Hatchery in Pennsylvania

Needles, Ariz. – Secretary of the Interior Ken Salazar announced today that the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service has awarded a $1.95 million contract for a water transmission project in west-central Arizona under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA). The stimulus funding will be used by C3 of Greenwood Village, Colo., to replace an outdated and inadequate water delivery system built in the early 1960s that has been used to irrigate Topock Marsh.
